First Reserve, Dropper & Elly Mae
Events
Saturday Doors: 8:00 PM
Get ready for another memorable night out as First Reserve & Dropper share the bill with rising star Elly Mae. This will be an evening to feast your ears on a diverse soundscape of angular guitars, melodic goodness, and glorious noise.
Here’s the lo-down:
First Reserve is inevitable. Before adopting the moniker in 2023, Ryan Connaghan had been prolifically writing music that communicated their experiences in life, love, and loneliness. These themes are all approached on songs like “Last One” and “Me & My Friends” – the first offerings from First Reserve’s debut EP set for release in late 2025. On stage, their sound is both intimate and larger-than-life, combining influences from alt-rock, indie-folk, and pop.
Dropper combines intuitive songwriting sensibilities with wall-of-sound, guitar. Blending noise and melody, Dropper is dynamic, song-centred, high-energy indie rock. Often compared to Bob Mould’s work with Hüsker Dü or Lou Barlow's early Sebadoh, they’ve been described by one review as having a "high energy stage performance punctuated by flawless musicianship and songwriting skills that seems beyond the years...Honestly, it’s hard to overstate how impressed I was with Dropper and am eagerly awaiting my next chance to see them live.”
Elly Mae's music encapsulates the bittersweet complexities of growth, relationships, time escaping, and the nostalgia embedded within. Her music is an amalgamation of folk, dreampop, shoegaze and whatnot.
