Events
Thursday Doors: 7:00 PM
Home Alone are proud to present Michaela Tempers live in concert celebrating her gorgeous new EP with a hometown show in Te Whanganui-a-Tara on 13th November at San Fran. She will be joined by her full band (some of whom are winging back in from a Europe tour) and very special guests, French for Rabbits.
Tempers’ EP Good Woman, out November 5th, explores the complexities of womanhood. It features songs about mediaeval heroines, love, anxiety and death. Bringing together threads from history, legend and religion, the record’s six tracks are rich with incisive detail, performed with sincerity, wit and a nod to contemporary and classic touchstones.
For the show she is joined by her all-star folk band who recorded the record with her. Featuring Chris Armour (guitar), Brooke Singer (keys, harmonies), Delly Jellyman (keys, organ), Hikurangi Schaverien-Kaa (drums), and Phoebe Johnson (bass). This show will be for the contemporary and traditional folk lovers: Nadia Reid, Frazey Ford, Joan Baez, Julia Jacklin. Don’t miss something truly special.
And, in traditional Wellington band-member sharing style, the bill will also include three members of her band in one of their other musical projects. Ethereal dream-pop band French for Rabbits will be opening the night, performing fresh songs that they have been working on over the last little while.
